S O S

By now, you've surely seen the message sent from Alien Enemies Act detainees in Texas. I don't want to minimize or downplay their plight in the least, because I honestly can't imagine the fear they must feel at the prospect of being sent to die in a maximum security prison for terrorists without ever having their case tried before any judge or jury.

The rest of us don't have it that bad ... not yet. The Cheeto fascist's crusade against education, science, and expertise are a loyalty litmus test. The Republicans have long played that card: if you're not with them, you're against America. It's a totalitarian ideology that punishes free thinking, and it's the most obvious antithesis to what this country claims as its founding principles.

In other words, the "SOS" sent from those political prisoners in Texas is really a message from America. We're on a fast track to oligarchy where all citizens will be political prisoners in our own country, unable to speak or report the news freely. Soon enough, we'll need to find ways to break through our own Great Firewall in order to access independent, uncensored ideas. I'm not saying we deserve outside help, but we surely need it.
